Workshops 2026
Our workshops are usually held in the charming village of Preston under Scar, in the Village Hall, postcode DL8 4AJ. Please ask for directions if you have not been before as the hall is tucked away from the main street.
All workshops are £65 per person for a full days tuition, tea, coffee, biscuits and a simple lunch. There is a materials charge which varies from £5 to £25 per person depending on the subject of the workshop.
What to bring with you:-
All materials and equipment are provided on the day. Please bring a hand towel, a pair of sharp scissors, and a needle and selection of sewing threads for the workshops which have a small amount of sewing. A ruler or tape measure can also be useful. You may also wish to bring a notebook and pen and a camera or smartphone for making process notes. I do respectfully ask that you do not share the process notes with others who have not attended the workshop.

BESPOKE WORKSHOPS

Bespoke workshops have become very popular in recent years as groups of family or friends want to enjoy spending time together learning something new. If you would like a workshop designed just for you or for your favourite people please get in touch and we will plan your day together.
A bespoke workshop will be £250 for maximum of 8 people plus the relevant materials charge. Please feel free to contact me by phone or email to discuss workshop topics to suit your group.

Saturday 14 March 2026 10am - 4pm

Floral Folk Art
Join us for a day of stylised flowers in bright pretty colours. A simple wet felting workshop, ideal for beginners. Spend the morning creating your design and 'colouring in' with bright colours. We will then enjoy a simple relaxed lunch and then finishing the picture with the wetfelting method.

All materials and equipment are provided and there will be a materials charge of £5. Suitable for beginners.

Thursday 14 May 2026 10am - 4pm

Tealight shades
Join us for a day of tealight shade making. A simple wet felting workshop, ideal for beginners. Spend the morning making a panoramic landscape or garden scene using a variety of wool and exotic fibres and then finishing with the wetfelting method. Enjoy a simple lunch whilst your felt dries then spend the afternoon making up the shade and installing the tealight.

Fibre Painting -
Wensleydale in Wensleydale!​
Celebrating Wensleydale wool, together with other wool, plant and silk fibres we will create a fibre painting inspired by the colours and textures of the heather clad moorland around us in Wensleydale. We will then wet felt the piece to form our fibre painting.
All materials and equipment are provided and there will be a materials charge of £5. Suitable for beginners.

Thursday 6 August 2026 10am - 4pm​
Nuno felting - Decorative Wrist Cuff​
Join us for a day of magic where we mix silk fabrics and wool fibre to form a beautiful textured fabric using the wet felting method. We will then make iour beautiful fabric into a cuff style bracelet with a button fastening.
All materials and equipment are provided and there will be a materials charge of £5. Suitable for beginners.

Friday 9th October 2026
Poppy brooch
Create your own unique poppy from wool and exotic fibres, make a felt ball for the centre, stitch in the stamens and add a brooch back so you can wear it in time for Remembrance Day. ​

All materials and equipment are provided and there will be a materials charge of £10, half of which goes to the Royal British Legion.

Saturday 12th December 2026
3d Lit Christmas Trees
Get into the Christmas spirit with a fun day making 3D felt trees using the wet felting method. Choose how to 'dress' your tree, use fairy lights to make it sparkle and enjoy a decoration with a difference during the festive season.
