Workshops 2025

Our workshops are held in the charming village of Preston under Scar, in the Village Hall, postcode DL8 4AJ. Please ask for directions if you have not been before as the hall is tucked away from the main street.

All workshops are £60 per person for a full days tuition, tea, coffee, biscuits and a simple lunch. There is a materials charge which varies from £5 to £25 per person depending on the subject of the workshop.

What to bring with you:-

All materials and equipment are provided on the day. Please bring a hand towel, a pair of sharp scissors, and a needle and selection of sewing threads for the workshops which have a small amount of sewing. You may also wish to bring a notebook and pen and a camera or smartphone for making notes.

BESPOKE WORKSHOPS

Bespoke workshops have become very popular in recent years as groups of family or friends want to enjoy spending time together learning something new. If you would like a workshop designed just for you or for your favourite people please get in touch and we will plan your day together.

A bespoke workshop will be £250 for maximum of 8 people plus the relevant materials charge. Please feel free contact me by phone or email to discuss workshop topics to suit your group.

Yarn Painting - Florals

Using a technique popular in Eastern European feltmaking we will use stylised shapes which we will translate into brightly coloured folk style yarn paintings. This workshop does not require any drawing skills and is suitable for complete beginners. A great way to brighten up the grey days.

Workshop Examples

Tealight shades

Join us for a day of tealight shade making. A simple wet felting workshop, ideal for beginners. Spend the morning making a panoramic landscape or garden scene using the wetfelting method. Enjoy a simple lunch whilst your felt dries then spend the afternoon making up the shaded installing the tealight.

Poppy

Using wet felting techniques we will create a beautiful poppy flower then with a little simple sewing we will customise our poppies and add a brooch back if desired.

Christmas Trees

Get into the Christmas spirit with a fun day making 3D felt trees using the wet felting method. Choose how to 'dress' your tree and enjoy a a decorate with a difference during the festive season
